Flute

Originally from Kyoto, Japan, Rumi Inoue is a Los Angeles-based performer, composer and recording artist specializing in Jazz and Afro-Latin music on flute. She holds a Master of Music degree in Afro-Latin Music Performance from California State University, Los Angeles. Rumi has an international presence as a performing and recording artist throughout Japan, Europe, and the United States. The release of her solo album “Rumi & Zabumba Rumba” resulted in an hour-long interview on Tokyo FM’s Rainbow Caravan. She toured extensively throughout California with Brazilian jazz group Bossa Zuzu, produced by Peter Erskine. Most recently, Rumi has created the multimedia art video project “Rumimaro Art & Music,” in which she introduces her own unique paintings paired with her original music.
