Emina Shimanuki is a Japanese-born Brazilian American who began singing while still a child. Along with her sister, Kana, Emina often joined her Brazilian mother on stage as a teenager, eventually growing into her own career as a professional performer. Emina is an original member of the Samba Society collective and MôForró. She has native fluency in Portuguese and English, and is conversationally proficient in Japanese. She recently jumped into motherhood, raising a vibrant baby boy and is enjoying every minute of parenthood.
