Bobby Easton, a versatile multi-instrumentalist and producer and Southern California native, has been contributing to the musical and cultural landscape of Los Angeles and beyond for decades. Since a very early age, creativity has been his path, starting with art and continuing to music. He holds a BA in anthropology and a minor in music from CSULB. He has been an educator for over 2 decades, teaching academics, drumming, arts and music through the Long Beach School District. He has also taught many workshops and classes at universities and other locations nationally. Bobby has traveled to Brazil several times to study music and capoeira, and has toured all around the United States with his band Delta Nove. He is also very active in the Brazilian community of Los Angeles, playing with LA groups Samba Society, Os Zagueiros, and Moforro. He has performed or recorded with artists and groups like Ozomatli, George Clinton/Parliament Funkadelic, Tony Allen, Calypso Rose, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Dennis Coffey, Beck, Viver Brasil, and many more. Bobby is also the founder and producer of the highly successful Long Beach Funk Fest, founded in 2009. He is currently working with Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as the director of the soon to be opened Watts Conservatory of Music.
